Latest News From The Trams

The Tramway reopened for the 2018 season on the 11th February after a Christmas Shutdown that allowed us to work on some of our workshop projects including Stockport 5.

We have now appointed a new Website Editor who is slowly making changes to the site, and is going to try and keep the site as up to date as possible!

Our most recent event, Tramtastic, on the 22nd July, saw our first 'Three Car Service' of the year, with our stalwarts 96 and 765 in operation, and after its year-long holiday in Blackpool, 623 was relaunched into service.

The day also gave us the re-enactment of the Suffragetes protest march through Heaton Park and the arrest of Emmeline Pankhurst, marking 100 years since women were given the right to vote in the UK,

Throughout August the tramway will be open on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, as well as the Bank Holiday Monday.  On Wednesdays and Saturdays we will have one car in operation, but on Sundays and Bank Holiday Monday we will aim to have 2 trams in service, subject to staff availability.  We will also aim to have the Shop and Museum open on all our operating dates, aain this is subject to staff availability,

Our next event at the Tramway is on Sunday 2nd Se[tember, when the Trans-Lancs Vehicle Rally comes to Heaton Park.  Will there be a 'Fourth Tram' in operation by then?  Well, watch this space!!
